This year The MVC and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation has teamed up to raise $100,000 for the VFW. The gist of the fundraiser is that you can make a pledge to give money per free throw made in The MVC for the year. Over the past two years, The MVC has averaged 2,558 free throws made. You can pledge to donate a penny, nickle, dime, quarter, or fifty cent piece per free throw. I’m putting a spin on how I’m donating though. I will be donating a nickle for every Facebook page like, and Twitter follower that ShockerHoops has at the end of Arch Madness. Currently Shocker Hoops has 346 Facebook likes and 2,256 Twitter followers for a grand total of 2,602. Which is roughly 50 more “free throws” than last year’s average. Currently, The MVC is sitting at just 2,364 free throws made for the year. I hope that through this, I can donate more based on followers and likes than on free throws made. Which is already a likely possibility.
