Reid Forgrave of Fox Sports tweeted on Friday that Conner Frankamp would be eligible on Wednesday, December 9th, as the Shockers take on UNLV at Koch Arena. Due to NCAA transfer rules, he must sit out until all final grades are posted for this fall semester. Previous reports stated that Frankamp’s first game of eligibility would be against Utah on December 12th.
Update from banged-up Wichita St: VanVleet a maybe for StL on Sat. Marshall says Grady still uncertain. Good news: Frankamp eligible on Wed.

With a depleted back court, the Shockers have needed Conner desperately to fill the gap left by an injured Fred VanVleet and Landry Shamet. VanVleet is a game time decision for the Saint Louis game this Saturday, but gives hope that Fred will be available for UNLV on December 9th. If Fred is healthy, and Conner is eligible to suit up next Wednesday, the Shockers’ back court will be tremendously stronger than the first 6 games of the season.
The Shockers have started the year 2-4 and hope to turn things around with healthy reinforcements. Wichita State travels to St. Louis this Saturday to cap off a stretch of 4 road games. UNLV visits Koch Arena next Wednesday, December 9th, followed by Utah at Intrust Bank Arena on Saturday, December 12th.
