Wichita State moves up to #9 in AP Top 25

The Associated Press released their top 25 rankings for the 2nd week of the college basketball season. Wichita State moves up one spot to #9 in the country. The Shockers edged out Gonzaga for the 9th spot by just 3 votes; Gonzaga received 1,040 votes while Wichita State received 1,043. Four schools received first place votes; North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, and Virginia.

The USA Today Coaches Poll was also released today. Wichita State moved up one spot in the top 25 to #11; just like the AP Top 25, Wichita State switched places with Gonzaga. The Shockers received 465 points to Gonzaga’s 462.

Wichita State hits the road for the first time this season, traveling to Tulsa on Tuesday. Gregg Marshall is just one win shy of his 400th career victory. The Shockers return to Wichita to take on Emporia State this Saturday.
